Introduction:
Digital forensic is a branch of forensic science and is defined as a process of obtaining, interpreting, and uncovering electronic data from electronic storage devices. The exponential growth in volume of data with wide variety of devices and formats has led to rise in the use of digital forensics. In 2005 although Dennis had scrubbed old documents from the floppy disk, forensic computer investigators found buried “metadata” identifying Christ Lutheran Church and “Dennis” being the last user. An internet search revealed Dennis Rader was president of the church council. He arrested after his confession in the court and said, “A floppy killed me”.
Computer Forensics Examiner Stephen Marx found emails of the defendant Dr. Conrad Murray which he had sent hours before Michael Jackson died on June 25, 2009. Marx not only recovered critical timeline emails, but also discovered digital medical charts that are thought to be non-existent. But the key piece of evidence was a damaging audio recording of an impaired Michael Jackson reportedly made by Murray.
