Business analytics in India is initiated by two important companies. Mckinsey started Mckinsey Knowledge Center in 1990.Mckinsey analytics assures to provide better performance through data. They work together with clients to build analytics driven organization. They combine latest techniques with deep industry, functional and analytics expertise to help client, capture the most value from data.
GE analytics (Global Electric) started in 1998 in India. In association with GECIS, analytics center of excellence started servicing people with a vision of harnessing the power of computing, data and advanced analytics to enable the optimization of the “physical-digital” performance of industrial assets. In 2005 GECIS spun off by GE to become GENPACT. GENPACT (Global Impact) became world leader in outsourcing .This was span when captive centres and third party offshoring became big shift in outsourcing analytics.
Pioneered by Evalueserve in 2000 by IBM and Mckinsey alumni gave KPO (knowledge process outsourcing) as a differential brand to BPO.
Evalueserve expanded from business research to financial research.
GENPECT and WNS world leader in BPO collaborated with EXL for analytics.
In2006 EXL services acquired Inductis. This Combination created a leader in knowledge services involving strategy, analytics, and technology.
Meanwhile in 2001 Sutherland started Advantity, WNS started Marketics in 2003, Cognizant started MarketRX in 2000 and GENPACT got associated with Symphony. Infosys, TCS, WIPRO also started their analytics division. QVIA used data, technology, advanced analytics and expertise to help customers drive healthcare.
